16/3/2020,
To all our valued Antenatal Patients and Families,
The Coronavirus pandemic is evolving dramatically every day. We at Adelaide Obstetrics and Fertility are constantly monitoring advice and recommendations from the Department of Health and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. We may consider adopting additional precautions if it is our view that the authorities are not responding quickly enough to protect the best interests of our patients.
As your Obstetricians we at Adelaide Obstetrics have resolved to adopt the following measures to reduce the risk of Coronavirus transmission. We appreciate your assistance, as we are doing our best to minimise disruption to your care.
Adelaide Obstetrics and Fertility will focus on “social distancing” during this extra-ordinary time. Our aim will be to minimise congestion and crowding at the practice.
Please do not attend Adelaide Obstetrics and Fertility if you are under travel or mandatory quarantine, if you are unwell, or have a fever, cough or a runny nose. We ask that you check your temperature before attending the practice. If your temperature is greater than 37.4 degrees do not attend the practice. Please ring our practice so appropriate arrangements can be made for you.
For those attending an appointment, we ask that you check in at reception and return to your car to aid in “social distancing”. Our reception staff will notify you by phone when your doctor is ready to see you. We will endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum.
Our Practice has always encouraged family participation in your pregnancy and care. However, for the time being in the interests of your wellbeing and safety we ask that you do not bring support people and children to your appointments. We understand this is not ideal, but we hope you understand that these are extraordinary times, and that these measures are temporary.
Our Doctors continue to provide the full range of Obstetric Services at Ashford Hospital unless the situation changes.
Adelaide Obstetrics and Fertility are reviewing our policies on an ongoing basis. We believe these measures will maximise your safety and wellbeing and will hopefully reduce the risk of interruption to your care. We apologise for any inconvenience these measures may cause to you and your family.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or concerns.
