Dr Stephen Lane
MBBS FRANZCOG
Member of the Fertility Society of Australia, President of the National Association of Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (NASOG)
I am a founding member of Adelaide Obstetrics & Fertility.
Born and raised in country South Australia, I received my medical degree from the University of Adelaide and conducted specialised training both here and in Bath, England.
Returning to Adelaide in 2001, I began privately practising obstetrics, gynaecology and reproductive medicine, before co-founding Adelaide Obstetrics & Fertility in 2009.
Committed to continual professional development, I am currently studying a Masters Degree in Reproductive Medicine, so that our patients can receive health care based on the latest in medical research.
Married with three children, outside of work I am a keen golfer, when I get the time!
I founded this practice with the aim of providing the highest possible standard of private health care for women.
I wanted to provide individualised care, and not treat people like a number on a waiting list or a medical problem waiting to be solved.
We’ve got a great team here. Everyone in the practice is helpful and supportive. We’ve got a lot of very experienced people—nurses and midwives, not just doctors—who are here because they want to help, and they’re passionate about women’s health.
For me, no question is a silly question—I encourage you and your partner or support person to ask me questions. If something concerns you, then it concerns me. I’m here to be as supportive as I can, and to help you make the best decisions for you and your baby.
