Lactation support from day one
Adelaide Obstetrics & Fertility and Ashford Hospital actively support women breastfeeding from day one of your child’s life.
If you are choosing to breastfeed your baby, not long after your delivery, an Ashford Hospital midwife will be with you to help you get started.
Lactation consultants are available on the postnatal ward and through the newborn support service. Individual consultations are also available with the lactation consultants to support the establishment of breastfeeding.
One of Adelaide Obstetrics & Fertility’s midwives is a qualified lactation consultant who can visit you in hospital and at home to help support you in breastfeeding your baby. She is also available for consultations in our rooms and for helpful tips over the phone.
